Theme

Education Administration, Management and Leadership: Are we failing Education?

Please note: Although sub-themes will be generated from the accepted submissions, we would like to see abstracts from all levles of our discipline, namely Academics, Policy-makers, government officials, provincial and district officials, school leaders and classroom leaders.

Who should attend?

Academics, practitioners, officials of education departments at national, provincial and district levels, principals, educators and trade union members, members from the NGO sector, and Honours, Masters and Doctoral students and members of political parties.

Postgraduate students

A separate session might be scheduled for the presentation of papers of postgraduate students.

Call for Papers

Abstracts
Abstracts of papers and presentations of 500-600 words must reach the conference secretary (Vitallis Chikoko) on or before 31 APRIL 2009. Notification of acceptance will be sent to presenters soon thereafter.

NB It should be noted that papers for this conference have to focus on Education Administration, Management and Leadership.

Full Papers
The complete paper must reach Vitallis Chikoko on or before 30 JUNE 2009. Papers must be at least 5000 words in length.

Please note that presenters whose papers have not been submitted by 30 June 2009 will be removed from the programme.

Technical Requirements
The abstracts and papers must be typed on A4 pages, in 1½ line spacing, 12 pt type and Times New Roman or Arial font.

KINDLY NOTE THAT PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE. EMASA EXTENDS AN INVITATION TO INTERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL ATTENDANTS/PRESENTERS, BUT WE REGRET THAT EMASA IS UNABLE TO PAY FOR TRAVEL COSTS, CONFERENCE FEES OR ANY OTHER COSTS.

Conference Fees

EMASA Members: R1800 (This includes your membership fee of R300 for 2009) (R1900 after 15 July)
Non-EMASA members: R1800 (R1900 after 15 July)
Students (presenting papers): R1200 (R1300 after 15 July)
Students (not presenting papers) [only unemployed students qualify for this discount]: R1400 (R1500 after 15 July)
  • Fee includes: Tea/coffee on Friday with registration, tea/coffee during conference breaks, lunch (Saturday and Sunday).

Full conference payment must reach AMESA by 30 June 2009
