Guidelines For Full Paper Presentations
MANUSCRIPTS
When papers are first submitted, they should be sent via email as an attached file in MS Word or .rtf format. In addition to the complete manuscript (including Figures and Tables), all Figures and Tables should be sent as separate attached files. This is to facilitate the editing/formatting process. Should a computer disc (CD only) be used, a hard copy must accompany the disc.
Scripts should be in English in third person format, in A4 page format and using Times New Roman, font size 12. 1.5 spacing must be used with a 25mm margin all round. Pages are to be numbered consecutively at the centre bottom of the page.
The author is responsible for making all changes and additions suggested by the referees/editors or alternatively responding to the comments in writing. The final copy must then be returned to the CCEAM 2008 Scientific Committee (together with a computer disc, where necessary). The disc should be marked with the author’s name and full contact details and the computer programme used to construct the figures.
LENGTH
Papers should be a maximum length of 3000 words.
LAYOUT & HEADINGS
The sequence of items in the script should be:
Title: This must be short and concise (no longer than 10 words), followed by the authors’ names, institutional affiliations and addresses (including email address).
Abstract: This should consist of a maximum of 250 words and should capture the important features of the paper.
Keywords: 6 Keywords are required. The selection of these is vital because the search engine will use these to identify your area of research.
Headings and sub-headings: Please ensure that headings are consistent with this style. Please do not use more than 3 levels of heading, unless absolutely necessary.
HEADING LEVEL 1: TIMES NEW ROMAN CAPITAL (12 POINT FONT)
Heading level 2: Times New Roman (12 point font) lower case
Heading level 3: Times New Roman (12 point font) italics.
Acknowledgements: If applicable
References: Literature cited must be arranged alphabetically. References in the text are given as Jones (1996) or (Jones, 1996) depending on context. Where two authors are involved both names should be cited (Jones and Smith, 1996). Where more than two authors are involved, the citation should be written as (Jones et al., 1996). When citing several papers by the same authors published in the same year, a, b, c, etc., should be placed after the year of publication. Each citation in the reference list should include the names of all authors, the year of publication, complete title, publisher, publication, volume number, issue number in brackets and inclusive page numbers. e.g.
Barnes, AC (1964). The Envirnomental Educator.. Leonard Hill, London, 456 pp.
De Beer, AG (1976). An new innovation in learning processes. Southern African Journal of Environmental Education. 20 (3): 111-112
Abbreviations for periodicals should be as quoted in the World List of Scientific Periodicals. References not cited in the text should not appear in the list of references and vice versa.
Unpublished data and verbal communications should not appear in the list of references, but should appear in brackets in the text, e.g. (Boetie, personal communication, 20/5/2006). Similarly, website references should appear in brackets in the text only and not in the reference list, with date of access.
Photographs and Images: Submit in .jpg format.
Tables: Headings inserted above the Table.
Figures: Headings inserted below the Figure.
Numbering: In the text all numbers below 10 should be written in full, and numbers greater than nine in digits. Paragraphs in the text should not be numbered.
Units: The SI system of units must be used.
